Weekend Report Card

So i'm playing teacher* today and grading how the weekend went, its like a blog report card! Excited? I sure am as it consists of me revealing stupid embarassing moments but we all know this is nothing new to LRT :o)

So lets talk about my Friday AM

I was running around the house and realized instead of leaving early because i had to make a pit stop at Starbucks to pick up a gift card for my boss i was still running around the house trying to find my keys, so i fibbed and i texted my friend Karen (who i was picking starbucks up for as well) and told her i was stuck in line, then no less then 5 minutes of frantic searching later i realized BF had taken BOTH sets of keys to work so I had to call Karen and confess, no i wasn't at Starbucks i was running around my house searching for my keys, so after Karen stopped laughing, Amber volunteered to pick me up but instead of waiting at the house like a sane person I ran in my work clothes (and the rain i might add) to Starbucks and picked up the gift card and extra special love filled smoothies for Karen and Amber who saved my morning - thanks girls, you can stop laughing now

Grade:
F for telling a little white lie
A for amusement factor for my coworkers, i will apparently live this down when i am "dead" that quote came directly from Karen, hahahaaaaaa

FRIDAY: Rest of friday i visited with some girlfriends and came home to a hilariously disoriented BF, he was very excited to have some "alone man time" in the house at night after spending a week packed into a cabin with a bunch of guy coworkers, i think he managed a walk with the doodle and a video game before he passed out on the tv room floor till i got home!

Best way to spend breakfast, sitting in sun beams with tea and a good book!
Saturday BF I were supposed to go by and help my sister and her husband build a fence, when we got there they had a ton of helpers so we left to run errands instead
Found this running errands, i would VERY much like it for my birthday please!
Grade:

D for eating their pizza even if we didn't help, we did  however manage to look pretty standing around though in our lululemon outfits, teeeheheheee
B for redemption when i went back Sunday and lugged an insane amount of fence boards so i could feel like i contributed in some way!

We also decided to take the fur baby for a walk Saturday night to the new house and on the way home we passed a path that had some man made ponds so we decided to let fur baby check it out as its closer then our current park and the first thing she did was run for the water and take a little swim, of course it was more like mud then water
Save me mum!!!
Was that really necessary?
Post bath freak out
And exhausted!
Grade:
A for pretty much everything, seeing how the house is coming along and watching Sydney have a blast in the water made me laugh SO hard, and watching BF take the time to give her a bath and talk her through it was the sweetest thing ever!
We have a lake, aren't we fancy?
Fun with focus points
Pre swim checking out the foundation!
SATURDAY: was an awesome day, we got to sleep in and go for a bunch of long walks, we hit up the farmers market to buy steak and veggies to have a BBQ for dinner, we got errands done including some packing, woot woot!

So on Sunday we celebrated our Mothers Day!
Grade:

A+ for our amazing mums who are just SO awesome and we are sooo grateful to have them in our lives and they should truly be celebrated every day not just once a year!

So lucky to be her MUM :o)
SUNDAY: we did some yardwork, including mowing half the lawn because our mower ran out of battery life, i'm hoping to start a trend and pretend we actually want it to look like that!  After helping out with Katies fence, she and i took our mums and mum in laws to the movie to see Something Borrowed!

LRT Movie Review
Something Borrowed

I really really liked the movie but probably because i read the book and i know the book Something Blue which is the sequel is soooo good!  I have to say Kate Hudson looks a lot older in this movie then she usually does, and i loved John Krasinki as the friend of Ginnifer Goodwins character!  There were definitely some laughs and  it wasn't just because my sister slept through half of it, fence building is hard work!

Okay, so i made a couple of disastrous recipes this weekend, my coconut macaroons turned into coconut pancakes (booooooooooo) and my brownies came out a little raw and had to be microwaved, oh the shame!  But seriously it was a British recipe and who has 25 cm pans?

One thing that did work out was my mum and dads recipe for Fresh Lemonade, they drank a ton of it when they were back in England and came home determined to make their own and my mum shared the recipe with me

L Family Lemonade

Ingredients
4 Lemons
1/2 cup of organic sugar
4 cups of water

Directions
1. Juice lemons and try not to cry out in pain as the juice finds that paper cut you got at work this week, eeeeeee
2. Mix 1/2 cup of water with Sugar in a saucepan over medium heat till sugar melts into the water and makes a syrup
3. Add lemon juice and the rest of the water and put in cute glass jug and refrigerate till cool!

You could serve this over ice or you could add the limoncello you picked up in Italy and some ice and make a crazy good punch drink to have with your BBQ!

Hope everyone had a great weekend, the sun shone the whole time and its amazing what it can do for your mood!  I have today off so i'm heading on a long run then groceries and maybe if the mood strikes me, more packing!

Happy Monday lovelies xox

*BF i totally see your mind going to the dirty place as soon as i said play teacher, please meet me after "school" to discuss this ;o)

Twitter Trauma

So its Fashion Friday here at LRT and i'm talking about something that is VERY fashionable, something called social media

I'll own up to LOVING Facebook, i was a late joiner, my best friend encouraged me to sign up after i became single again back in 2009 to catch up with old friends, i didn't look back and have wasted many hours getting sucked into the vortex that is status updates and album pictures

I am a big fan of the BLOGGING world, i've "met" so many amazing people who inspire me every day, i see no disadvantage to blogging other then my constant drafting of blogs in my head and the early wake up hours to take photos of food in the "good light"

Now lets talk about Twitter, i am flumoxed, stumped and totally out of my element

About a month ago i set up a LoveRunTravel twitter account and i seriously feel like a little kid in a room full of ivy league university grads -  i mean hashtags? No offense but that sounds like a drug you smoke!  There is something called #fitblog that always seems to happen when i get home from work Tuesdays that i feel like happens really fast and i'm unfit for not being able to follow along

So i've decided to do some research and i'm sharing what i learn here with you? Ready? I'm about to google things like "twitter for idiots, twitter for the twitterly challenged", "how not to be twit when it comes to twitter"

Okay i'm back that SO didn't work out, i'm even more confused and there is A LOT to read and no short version i could share here - so lets have fun and look at comics instead

Sorry friends, i'll do more research and get back to you with more info, hopefully they gave you a giggle at least!

Now I haven't included a work outfit and workout outfit for a while so here is the quickie version
Tank:  My new Cool Racerback in black citron tinted canvas super from LuLuLemon
Please note this is post Zumba and i'm a disaster, i couldn't even manage to fully take my jacket off :oÞ Do you like my hair swoop? I have been doing that for class lately since i sweat my tushie off in Zumba and i hate having wet stringy bangs, this is the perfect solution even if it does emphasize my massive forhead that totally conflicts with my teeny tiny head
Socks - these are also new from LuluLemon, they are called the No Show Sock!
LOVE these, they really don't show under my asics and they have extra padded support at pressure areas! I mostly use them for running but i'll occasionally use them for Zumba since we bounce and jump around a lot in that class*

* there have been a lot of guys going lately to zumba, first off i think they are UBER brave and secondly think about it, we wiggle and gyrate and shake our boobies non stop in that class, those guys are lovin every second and are smarter then we give them credit for!

Funky work outfit shot
Blouse: H & M
Cardigan: J Crew
Necklace: Forever 21
Skirt: H&M
Shoes: Nine West

I'm a rebel with a clause

Sometimes i even amuse myself with my Post Titles, I truly feel my career in banking is a waste of Tag Line talent

I spent this weekend truly rebeling against the man, well kind of, lets have the pictures show the story in true Monday Recap fashion

ReBeL: The Easter bunny visited my office on Thursday, i might have traded the eggs i didn't like with my coworker who was out of the office, shhhh!
ClAuSe: I made sure I asked the Easter bunny's permission first

ReBeL: Played board games with friends ON the stove
ClAuSe: It was turned off

ReBeL: I played with this bunny even though i'm kinda scared of rabbits
ClAuSe: I didn't actually hold it, i just kind of petted its head due to actual immense bunny phobia

ReBeL: I took photos at the gym even though there is a strict no cell phone policy

ClAuSe: I made sure to turn it on vibrate first and there was no one within a 5 machine radius

ReBeL: I took foodie photos in front of my family
ClAuSe: I used my iPhone so nobody noticed

ReBeL: I ate icecream in -2celcius weather
ClAuSe: we had the heat turned up on high in the car

ReBeL: I fed the furry monster that lives in the back of our sedan
ClAuSe: She repaid me with sweet doodle kisses

ReBeL: I did shots with my sister at 11am in the middle of the Brantford Farmers Market
ClAuSe: The shots were made of wheat grass
ps: aren't we cute in our matching lulu hoodies?

ReBeL: I smelled the pretty Easter flowers even though i know i'm allergic to some kind of flower
ClAuSe: It's definitely not this flower, i remember now it was purple and resembled daisies

ReBeL: I ate A LOT of Easter chocolate on Sunday
ClAuSe: Its okay because i worked my ass of at the gym Friday and Saturday and its British Chocolate so if it comes from another country, the calories TOTALLY don't count

Friday: BF and I hit the gym then went to the Brown Dog in Paris, a lovely little cafe that has amazing views, (when it isn't freezing out) i had an AMAZING Gouda, Caramelized Onion and Sundried Tomato Sandwich, yummmm - only downfall to the Brown Dog chain is they don't take debit, who doesn't take debit nowadays?

Saturday: Went to Physique 57 and Zumba then perused the Farmers Market and picked up a TON of fresh produce, sooo excited to get to the market more now the weather is finally turning spring like, We went to Limeridge in Hamilton to find me a dress to wear to the wedding we are attending next week but alas i was too picky and nothing looked right, bummer! BF and i decided on a date night and went to a local Greek/Italian restaurant and had an amazing early bird special dinner and then went to see Scream 4

LRT Movie Review: Scream 4
Truly typical Scream movie material but with a good twist at the end, i did however have nightmares all night, i always feel brave until i'm sitting in the theatre and then i chicken out :oP

Sunday: We slept in (surprise, surprise), had brunch at my parents, yummmm, came home and relaxed and did laundry then had my in laws over for dinner, made tacos (super Easteree huh?) and I used turkey instead of ground beef - must show the world healthy alternatives one dinner at a time muahahahaaaa

Sorry i've been totally MIA this weekend, no comments and no reading, bad blogger!

You see the more overwhelmed i get in life, the more i abandon all responsibilities

Selling the house and having to pack everything and live out of boxes for a month is truly stressing me out to ridiculous proportions, i really make my own stress, we didn't pack one box this weekend and as much as I know we have to get started, relaxing this weekend was soooo necessary

BUT i'm back and i'll be blogging some great recipes for you this weekend

Until then...

ReBeL: i didnt photograph a single recipe for you this weekend
ClAuSe: i do have these photos of Angelas Vegan Lentil Loaf left over from vegan week

Review: Totally reminded me of the consistency of meatloaf however next time I will leave out the walnuts, i dont like nuts in food, i'm quirky like that!

Happy Monday everyone xox
